May 27, 2011

My Mum claimed the bag before it was even finished, the moustache belt was a gift for a friend, and the buttons (along with a few other pieces, are available at The Henhouse down at Silva Bay.

Happy 2011!

January 25, 2011

There was some much needed R&R that was enjoyed post holiday. Christmas used to be one of my favourite times of the year…now it is January. So cold and quiet, not much going on, a big sigh of relief.

So what have I been up to? Lots of custom orders being fulfilled. I finally finished a twin size quilt for a friend’s daughter – I feel very accomplished as I have never made such a big blanket (60″x80″).

The Cowls and Buttoned Collars have been selling well :) These are all one of a kind pieces! Pictures of the Cowls below. I will be working on more of the Buttoned Collars soon.

Dresses!I love to make dresses. Each one takes on its own personality. Contact me if you would like to order a custom dress.

With only one week left to go before the Gabriola Winter Art Affair we are madly creating, making, decorating, labeling and photographing new items daily.  This will be the perfect opportunity to get those last minute items for that special someone, or a way to finish stuffing those stockings.  There will be wonderful treats to snack on while sipping apple cider.  We are located at 845 North Rd. on Gabriola Island, open December 18th between 11 am and 5 pm.  Don’t miss this last wonderful chance before Christmas for a truly local shopping experience!

A divine combination accented with silver. These gorgeous earrings, made by Carly, are currently available in our studio for $38.

I’ll be adding a few more photos to the gallery of jewelry that is currently for sale in our studio. We will be open 11am-5pm on December 18th for the Winter Studio Tour but if you need something sooner please send us a message to let us know you would like to stop by!

Twist of the Wrist…

November 9, 2010

It has taken me awhile to get back into the swing of things on the artistic front after the Thanksgiving Studio Tour.  Partly due to being completely out of certain supplies and partly due to well, life.  I have received beads, wire and chain all enabling me to began creating pieces again.  This bracelet was for friend as a gift but the earrings will be available for sale at the Gabriola Winter Art Affair on December 18th at our studio at 845 North Rd.

I loved the first one so I had to make another. This one is cashmere – undo the top button when you come inside and show off the beautiful pattern of yet another gorgeous cotton fabric (no itchy neck!)

Keep your neck warm

November 8, 2010

One of the things I love about winter time is layering up with lots of fun accessories to keep warm. Here is one of my recent creations made with a dark blue sweater knit and lined with a gorgeous cotton fabric designed by Anna Maria Horner from her new line Innocent Crush. (I love this collection!) The 4 brass buttons give a bit of a military feel. I want to keep this one for myself!

My Candy Shop

November 4, 2010

Everyday for the past 10 days I have been waiting, somewhat impatiently, for my latest purchases of beads from Etsy to arrive.  I have found that I can purchase some of the most beautiful jewelry supplies via Etsy as they have a sensational supplies section complete with fabric, beads, yarns, patterns and much more.  It means that I can live on Gabriola without feeling the need to source stuff out of Vancouver or Victoria.  I am currently waiting for an order from gemtone beads (that is actually how they spell their name) out of India in which I have ordered some beer quartz, honey, quartz, chalcedony, garnet and blue topaz.  I feel like a kid in a candy shop when I peel off all the tape to expose my prized possessions and start dreaming of the pieces to be created.
